towards quantum readiness

Quantum Materials and Devices Group

We are an interdisciplinary Research Lab at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), A*STAR based in Singapore. We study quantum transport in low-dimensional materials systems in order to drive the next quantum revolution.

We are a research arm of the Quantum Technologies for Engineering (QTE) department in IMRE.

WE BUILD AND MEASURE STATE OF THE ART DEVICES

OUR MISSION

We seek to develop robust and scalable quantum materials and devices to pave the way towards a solid-state quantum computer. To realize this, we innovate technologies towards scalable quantum device fabrication approaches, material growth and processing, and advanced characterization techniques.

LOW TEMPERATURE TRANSPORT

Quantum phenomena manifests most clearly at extreme scales. We cool systems to ultracold 10 mK (colder than outer space) to study exotic behaviours in quantum systems.

NANOFABRICATION

Detecting novel quantum phenomena requires devices to be fabricated in the cleanest environment. We build our devices in class 100 cleanroom equipped with state-of-the-art nanofabrication tools.

MATERIAL GROWTH

AND
PROCESSING

Without materials of the highest quality, quantum phenomena are easily obscured. Here, we strive to grow and process advanced materials toward atomic-level perfection.
